Beef Availability

From our pasture to your plate

Our own homegrown, all natural, pasture raised Angus beef is available year round, available as CSA Shares, in Variety Packs, a la carte, & as a full, half, or quarter cow. Details and pricing are listed below.

And… just a quick PSA about our grassfed beef. It’s super lean, which makes it cook quicker than store bought beef. Cook our beef SLOW! If you don’t, the meat will overcook, lose flavor, and will be tough.

CSA Beef Shares:

Beef Program CSA members will receive a share of beef once a month (June-Sept) containing various cuts of meat. Throughout the season members will receive a combination of steaks, roasts, and other assorted cuts as well as ground beef, hot dogs, hamburger patties, and/or sausage. Beef Share options include:

  • Small Beef Share: (approx. 5 lb/month) Price: $250
  • Medium Beef Share: (approx. 10 lb/month) Price: $450
  • Large Beef Share: (approx. 20 lb/month) Price: $850.

Homegrown Beef Variety Packs:

Our Beef Variety Packs come with an assortment of our delicious homegrown, grassfed, all natural pasture raised Angus beef. Variety Packs must be pre-ordered. Pack options include:

  • 15 lb. Variety Pack: A mix of steaks, roasts, ground beef and/or other assorted cuts. Price: $160
  • 15 lb. PREMIUM Variety Pack: A mix of steaks, roasts, ground beef, sausage, burgers, hotdogs, and/or other assorted cuts. Price: $175
  • 25 lb. Variety Pack: A mix of steaks, roasts, ground beef, burgers and/or other assorted cuts. Price: $255
  • 25 lb. PREMIUM Variety Pack: A mix of steaks, roasts, ground beef, sausage, burgers, hotdogs, and/or other assorted cuts. Price: $275

Full, Half, & Quarter Cows:

Price includes the cuts (steaks, roasts, ground beef and some burger patties) from one of our homegrown Angus steers. A non-refundable deposit is needed to secure your purchase and full payment is required prior to pickup. Options include:

  • Full cow: ($400 deposit required) A whole cow is typically 300-320 lbs, priced at $9.50/lb.
  • Half cow: ($200 deposit required) A half cow is typically 150-160 lbs at $9.75/lb.
  • Quarter cow: ($100 deposit required) A quarter cow is typically 75-80 lbs at $10.25/lb

A la carte beef is available by contacting us, placing an order, and arranging a convenient pick up time.  If there is a particular beef cut that you are interested in, remember, it’s first come, first served – please email us and we can hold the beef for you to pick up. <Cindy@VonThunFarms.com>  Unfortunately, the majority of the beef packages are different weights, & therefore different prices.
